模拟中心 Certifications and Courses
The following professional certifications are offered by the FAU Clinical Skills 模拟中心 under the auspices of various charter organizations; the American Heart Association (BLS, acl, 朋友), and Advanced Trauma Life Support – Training Support Center - (ATLS). These courses are taught by request and utilize the CSSC facilities, taking full advantage of our full-body high fidelity mannequins. Many other organizations teach these courses, but the CSSC reinforces hands-on training with resuscitation on our mannequins. 在培训期间, if the participants provide inadequate ventilation, 压缩, 或药物, 受害者将会死亡. The patient experiencing the effects of a mega code will present with the symptoms appropriate for that patient. The participants get a chance to interact as if in a real-life situation. This expanded training provides a more realistic and educational experience for the participants.
The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course is provided by Florida Atlantic University 医学院 模拟中心, we offer the two day traditional course as well as the 1 day refresher for rectification. The course is lecture and skills-intensive. 在课程结束时, there will be a written test and an evaluation of the participant's skill knowledge. The didactic portion will be divided between video and PowerPoint presentations. The scenarios duplicate real events and facilitate analysis of the chain of patient safety and treatment procedures while creating the illusion of real-life drama, both under normal and disaster circumstances. We use our High-Fidelity mannequins for the simulation to train and certify healthcare providers.

Basic Life Support for healthcare providers is available to healthcare professionals whose proficiency in BLS will better equip them to serve the community. BLS certification includes training on:
- How to perform CPR on infants, children, and adults
- How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- How to relieve choking (foreign-body airway obstruction)
- How to respond to life-threatening emergencies according to the "chain of survival"
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (acl) training is available to healthcare professionals for initial or recertification of their acl Providers Certificate. This course teaches the systemic approach to dealing with 紧急 Cardiovascular Care, 包括 pre-hospital and in-hospital treatment of patients in cardiovascular distress. The program evaluation includes hands-on exercises with human mannequin simulators for case-based learning and skills proficiency. 课程内容包括:

- Primary and Secondary ABC (Airway, Breathing, Circulatory) steps

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (朋友) training is available to healthcare professionals for initial or recertification of their PALS Providers Certificate. This course teaches the pediatric assessment approach to deal with 紧急 Pediatric Care, 包括:

- Identification of core rhythms

- Knowledge of PALS flowcharts and algorithms
The program evaluation includes hands-on exercises with human pediatric mannequin simulators for case-based learning and skills proficiency.
